Finally, a Sailing Weekend
19 August 2012 | Cuttyhunk Island, MA
Marta Portoles
Tim and Sammy joined us Friday night, Aug 17th, for a weekend sailing, Hurrah!
The forecasted weather was not very nice so we had a lazy Saturday morning, talking and cooking Lemon Madeleines (Thank you, Sammy!). We set sail for Cuttyhunk Island on Saturday afternoon. After a quick sail with our brand new Code 0 (aka Gennaker, aka Screecher), we anchored in 10 ft of water on the well-protected anchorage of Cuttyhunk Pond. Of course, as soon as the anchor was down, Alec's fishing rod was out. We had a nice dinner with the four Atlantic herrings that Alec caught in record time. They tasted deliciously fresh but they were so bonny that we might not repeat the experience.
Another quick sail back on Sunday with the prevailing SW winds and we were back at the shipyard dock just before dinner. It was great to take a break from the Shipyard and be able to sail and spend time with friends. We bid temporary farewell to Tim and Sammy.
