Vineyard Haven

We had a quick sail to Vineyard Haven, we were doing 8 to 10 knots in a 15 knot beam wind - Por Dos' sweet spot. I thought once anchored the kids would be anxiously wanting to go ashore, but instead they wanted to hang out on the boat and play Australian Monopoly (same game but with Aussie names) - go figure! Naturally, Alec was alternating between playing monopoly and fishing. I have not been able to keep track of how many fish he caught but most were baby Scup so, they were put back in the water. We ended the day with two Scup just over the size limit. It was my once a week free night, which means, the kids were doing dinner, and Alec's scups were the perfect complement to Andrew's fried rice and Roan's green beans.
Vineyard Haven is quite the busy port, and despite calm seas and lack of wind, it is quite rocky. I cannot imagine being in a mono-hull. We have decided to move to a quieter anchorage as soon as our visitors, Effie, Eric and Will arrive on Saturday morning.
