The Fin

Will, Eric, Effie, and Andrew were all visiting us at Lake Tashmoo on Martha's Vineyard, when we decided to rent some Paddle Boards. The prices were very good and they even brought the Paddle Boards to the dock, saving us a long walk there and back.
The Paddle Boards themselves were very nice too. With a longer, wider, more stable one, and a smaller more "tippy" (but maneuverable) one. As soon as they were brought over everyone wanted to try them but the adults got to use them first, because Andrew and I accidentally put a pair of fins balancing precariously over the edge and over night one fin fell off. So we were busy diving in to try and get it while everybody else was playing on the inflatable kayaks and the paddle boards :P
Finally my dad said we could come back in and that we'd look tomorrow. Then it was my turn on the paddle board, I stepped on and surprisingly I didn't fall off! The paddle boards were quite stable however Andrew had some serious trouble turning and started to drift away. After he had traveled about a hundred feet spinning in circles trying to turn and asking for help we decided to go and rescue him. With Eric in the water swimming Will on the inflatable kayak and me on the other paddle board we managed to catch up to Andrew (still asking for help) and Will switched with Andrew so he was now on the paddle board and Andrew in the inflatable kayak. We headed back upwind, and with your body acting like a sail it was much harder to get back upwind in a paddle board.
The next day I slept in late as usual but almost as soon as I finished breakfast we were swimming in the water. Andrew and I decided to use a kayak to search for the bright yellow fin because in the 10 foot deep water we thought you could see it from the surface. So Andrew and I were paddling around for about 15 minutes checking and rechecking the same spots over and over then we headed back in, and my dad asked Andrew to toss him the fin because he wanted to do an experiment to see if we really could see it 10 feet under. So Andrew lobbed him the fin almost hitting him in the face - that was when we discovered that the fins actually floated! Then my dad hopped into a kayak and combed the shoreline. 45 minutes later my dad triumphantly returned with the fin.
Then I was left with the rest of the day to enjoy paddling around and having fun with my friends.
