We covered the 62 miles from DC to Colonial Beach in about 9 hours. We sailed about 3 hours and motor-sailed the rest. Alec and Roan did school work for half of the trip or so, just getting back into it after the DC "vacation". We dropped anchor, and Mark went up the mast to place plastic covers over a section on the upper length of the shrouds. We hope the plastic cover will protect the mainsail and the mainsail battens from chaffing against the shrouds when the sail is all out going downwind.

Roan and Alec decided that they also wanted to go to the top of the mast, so up the bosun chair they went in turns. Obviously, this was not enough to burn off all of Alec and Roan's energy, so they decided to swing around over the trampoline in the bosum chair hanging from the spinnaker halyard. I cringed every time the made-up swing would near the mast but they were having a blast. A good finale after a long day of school!
