Onto the next adventure

Jane, hot and sunny
The last 18 months here in the Caribbean has been everything (and more) we could have imagined. We certainly would love to stay longer, but we will be back for sure.
We have made some incredible friends and hopefully we will connect again over the years. They have made our social life extremely happy, fun times.
What have we been up to the last two months? Can you believe working very hard? The "to do" list was very long (Russ would like me to PDF it onto this blog, but there is not enough time - we leave tomorrow). Obviously we have had some fun here in St. Martin too, which now feels like our second home.
One of our most recent highlights was my birthday when we had over 30 people on board for rum sundowners and potluck appies. Fortunately there were no fun police on the water; otherwise I am sure they would have shut us down. We ended up feeding everyone beef in a bun, eating cake and cranking up the music so we could dance the night away. What an amazing crowd the cruising fraternity is!!
Another highlight was yesterday and the Carnival parade. It was wonderful to be able to share the experience with our friends Kim and Cam, who are now on board to join us up to Bermuda. Some very colourful photos are in the gallery.
St. Martin is an amazing island with so much diversity. A great place to stop and work on the boat in the safety of the huge lagoon. The French side is very different from the Dutch side and we did manage to get away for Easter to Tintmarre Island, which was gorgeous.
So now we leave for Bermuda, a 5 to 6 day trip depending on the weather. From there it is onto the Azores, a much longer trip before we complete our last leg across the Atlantic to Portugal. We plan to be in the Balearic Islands (just East of the coast of Spain) mid July where Amy and Edwin are joining us. We can't wait to see them. Are we excited ... yes!! Next blog? Hopefully Bermuda. Please leave comments - we do so love receiving them.
