Flying the spinnaker

This Labour Day weekend, Deb and Andrew from Horton joined us at QCYC. Ed and Andrew sorted out the spinnaker, which we have never flown. Andrew lent us a sleeve which fits over the headsail, so that we could fly it like an asymetrical. Unfortunately, the fog rolled in on Friday. So we rented quad bikes on Center Island, and toured around until the rain caught up with us.

On Saturday, we made it out onto the lake, but by the time we headed downwind and raised the spinnaker, the wind was almost non-existent. We did manage to hit 1.5 knots(hold on to your hats!), but the knotmeter wasn't working just then, so we have no photographic evidence. We did manage to catch a bit of the CNE Air Show, though.
