Tight Rope Walking

05 June 2013 | Vuda Point Marina
Rod
Just a quick update. A storm caught us , and held us captive at Blue Lagoon for a week. Blue lagoon is a very protected anchorage for the conditions that came for a while. We saw winds in the 40s, stayed on board for a day here and there, but in the end, the sky was blue and the bad weather was gone. So, since we had an appointment at Vuda Point Marina to haul out and paint our bottom, we made a quick dash down the Yasawas and Mamanukas to Vuda Point. We arrived at about 13:30 today and Med-moored for our first time ever. We were as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockers, but we got in without scratching anything. We came in bow first and as you can see, we climb over the bow rail, put our weight on the mooring line which pulls the boat close enough to the landing for us to step over. It works, and ensures that we will not drink too much when we go to the yachtie bar!

I'll write more about our Blue Lagoon storm and the trip down later. Sleep time now.

Be excellent to each other,

Rod and Elisabeth
