Underway for Majuro

10 September 2015 | 45 Miles North of Tarawa, Kirabati
Rod
Sunday, September 10

The opportunity for perfect sailing conditions sometimes loses out to reality. This is one of those times. The wind is light, but by sailing when we can, and motor-sailing when we need, we are underway, bound for Majuro. We left at about 0730 this morning, and we hope to arrive Majuro on Monday. The weather is grey and squally with lumpy seas that slow us down. We need to average 4 knots to make our goal, and so far, we are doing well as we had wind enough for 5 plus knots for many periods today.

We enjoyed Tarawa much more this time around than we did three years ago. Navigating there is much nicer because they have installed new floating channel buoys. Nice!

Ok,not much else to report. See you tomorrow.
