Ok. Blog time. Many changes and new directions. We are off to Mexico next week to sign papers for the sale of our condo there. We will be there for two nights and then fly back to Majuro with a stop in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, we will drive up to our house and pick up a spare mainsail (just to have a spare). Then, about the middle of May, we will depart for Alaska – nonstop. Whew!
Meanwhile, we are cleaning and rebuilding the cabin heater. We really want it to work when we arrive Alaska. We have also been performing all of the other yearly maintenance items on board, such as the joyful job of taking all of the septic hoses off and cleaning them, rebuilding the toilet, etc. Fun, fun, fun!
A week or so ago, we helped our friend Cary of the yacht SEAL haul their boat. There is not haul out facility here, so Cary hired a crane and he hauled out at a friend’s house and put the boat in his yard. It went well, and all is good.
We have also been enjoying ourselves, and electric music “Your Rock and Roll Argonauts” can often be heard coming from the good yacht Proximity in the afternoon after work.
Our plan is to sail from Majuro to Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians, and we expect it to take about a month. That’s a long sail and will take us direct north until we reach westerly winds, then we will bend the course to the northeast.
For now, that’s about it. Be excellent to each other, and stay on the happy train, ok?
