Day 5

21 May 2016 | Work Day
Rod
Saturday, May 21

Well gang, today we had a heck of a time fighting the seas. The wind had clocked over and would have allowed us to make some easting, but the seas are pretty big and were right on the nose and very close together. So it was dig the bow in, dig the bow in, and repeat. We didn't like it. We are much more comfortable now, although we are getting rolled around quite a bit. We had called our friend Bob, who does the weather routing for us to get his opinion on a course change we wanted to do to make things more comfortable. Champion that he is, gave his very respected blessing. Thanks Bob! It is also his wedding anniversary, 49 years, so we can all wish him and his lovely Kristi a happy anniversary.

Our course is straight north. 003 at this moment. Speed is 5 kts.

We worked pretty hard today. This was our first real "working day". Reef, unreef, reef, etc. Trim, set the wind vane steering, etc. On top of it all, Elisabeth whipped up a beautiful couscous, kimchee, tofu stir-fry dinner that was really supurb. She is amazing! I wouldn't have had it in me - not today.

Now, your very tired argos will send our best to everyone, and we will report again tomorrow. Oh, and don't be afraid to comment on the blog. It's there for you too!
