No sailing today. The wind is just too light for anything other than slatting the sails, banging and popping them, shaking the mast and whole boat. So, we are drifting, but drifting with a purpose. Elisabeth, (our light air specialist - come to think about it, she is good at chess too) found that if she tweaked the head sail by having it out just a little scrap, she could lock the wheel and have the boat drifting at about 2.5 knots nearly on perfect course to DH. Amazing, so it is a guilty pleasure. Here we are making course to destination, and not having to do anything other than an occasional tweak for course correction. As of 4:30 today, we have made 37.55 miles toward course just by controlled drifting. We expect to salvage a 40 mile day by 1800. We have read many stories about people struggling for their 40 mile day in light wind. Bravo Elisabeth!

We are in fog pretty much most of the day. When the fog let up for a while, we still had very heavy overcast. We tried a few times to actually sail, but it was really no use. Shortly after I finish this, we will try to sail again. But we have been fooled by a short tease of sailable wind followed by nothing. We don't give up.

So that's it. A nice lazy day. We enjoyed our Sparkling Martinelli's today, and saved half for tomorrow. That stuff is super sweet. It's all good, and maybe we will have sailing to report tomorrow. We're getting there, albiet slowly.

All best and hugs to all of you.

As always, be excellent to each other.
