06 June 2016 | Sitting in the path of a cold front.

Sunday, June 5

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to announce that Proximity has been sailing since 0200 early this morning. We are getting the arrival of a cold front that we have been watching for a while now, and with it will come winds for some sailing. Hopefully, it will be enough to get us out of this on again, off again area. For now, we are on the move.

So, it is bouncy. Bouncy enough that the ship's chef didn't feel like cooking, and nor would I blame her. But we did have hot food for dinner. (All of our French friends, please skip past the rest of this part to the next paragraph please.) We had a little salad of Marzetta Antipasto, and hot Chef-Boy-R-Dee ravioli. Know what? It was wonderful!! Certainly better than Wattie's spaghetti. Cans. The perfect passage food. When it is bouncy, you can't beat them.

Laurence, thank you for your comment and the kind words. It is really good to hear from you, and we look forward to seeing you too. Glad to have you in touch.

Gary, you too. No worries at all. When we started this cruising thing, Sailmail and SSB was the latest and greatest. It is still beloved, but I'm afraid it is a bit long in the tooth.

We have had two really big birds hanging with us for the past two days. They look like huge seagulls. I can't imagine that they are albatross, but they are really neat. During the calm they would just sit quietly floating next to the boat. I named the one Chaika. Not much to report than this. It is good to be sailing.

Be excellent to each other!
