Sorry, but we will not leave today. The short period of weather suitable for our departure is just too short to make it to our next stop before it turns around and hits us head on with strong winds. The low is approaching, and the isobars are just too close together to make leaving attractive. It appears that our next opportunity will be in about 6 days. Seems like a long time, but we want to enjoy this sailing rather than simply endure it. Alaska has a whole different set of weather rules than the South Pacific, so we respect that.

Meanwhile, we bought an airplane while "on vacation" in California. We plan to "cruise" the small grass strips of the US and Canada, camping under the wing, etc. So we now announce that our beloved Proximity will up for sale when we arrive in Seattle. We will ask $120,000 USD for her, but if any blog reader wanted her, we would give a special price. It is kind of like having a beloved pet that you cannot justify keeping, but want to go to a good home. If you might want her, let us know. And you also know that she has been completely refit with all new equipment and systems throughout. You will not find a better boat for this money, and she is a boat that can take you safely anywhere in the world.

Our airplane is a lovely 1948 (nearly 70 years old restored antique) Cessna 170. The next chapter awaits. But for now, let's get that weather for the passage in order!

Be excellent to one another.
