Memories are made of this.

Do you remember the scrapbooks we kept when we were younger and most likely at school? Pages of old pictures in unexiting rows with a bus ticket or memento stuck somewhere to remind us of people or an occassion.
Times have changed!
Scrapbooks have gotten a makeover. Scrapbooking is a fun and exciting way to preserve memories. Scrapbooks now tell stories with pictures and journaling. Yachties are now using scrapbooks to tell the stories of their voyage ...the places, special occasions, happy times and the people who live them. By including journaling, scrapbooks have become storybooks. Scrapbooks use paper and embellishments to decorate pages in exciting new ways...
No yacht today should be without a guest book or scrapbook.
We all wait in anticipation for our scrapbooks to come back from whoever has to sign it ...because this is no small affair these days, no quick signature with a hasty note written somewhere on a page...no no no. The yachtie kids and women(mostly) take these mementoes very seriously and shells and recipes and photos are collected to add on our yachtie- (or sometimes land lubber) friends's books! The pages contain pictures, paintings, pieces of cloth...there is no end to the creativity.
One of the first things the kids do when meeting new yachtie kids, is to go over their firendship books with each other to see friends that they have known collectively in different places and different times.
And I am sure in the years to come, our guest book/scrap book will still be a very valuable ,sentimental memory of our voyage - a reminder of places, friends and good times.
