Getting Started - First Post
12 October 2011 | Neiafu, Tonga
Our friend Bill Myers in Honolulu has given us a reminder we are about 18 months late in getting a blog going. We are currently in Neiafu, Vavau Group, Tonga. Our trip began in June, 2010 with a crossing last year from our home in Honolulu to San Francisco with friends. We then made our way down the West Coast to San Diego. In late October last year we did the Baja Haha. From November to early April we enjoyed Baja and the Pacific Coast of Mexico. In mid-April we had an easy crossing from Banderas Bay to Nuka Hiva. We spent three months in the Marquesas, Tuamotus and Societies. We left Bora Bora to spend time at Suwarrow in the Cook Islands, a wonderful spot. We then sailed to American Samoa and had three weeks at Pago Pago followed by a similar stay in Apia, Samoa (formerly called Western Samoa). Last week we left Samoa and are now in Tonga. We hope to follow-up with regular postings but give us time as we plan to head for Opua, New Zealand by the end of this month. Aloha, Mark and Dorothy
