Well, hello strangers!
We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary on October 15! We went to the Blue Ridge Mountains to celebrate, the fall colors were gorgeous! We hiked about 10 miles in two days with our dog Charlie, not bad, I think. Anyway we spent last November '05 through May '06 in the Eastern Caribbean. we arrived back in the United States in late May 2006. We docked in Ocracoke, NC for the summer where we worked to replenish the cruising kitty. It is now October, we will spend much of November in Louisiana with my family and then most of December in North Carolina with Brian's family. Then, we will set sail again for the islands. We have to get our family time in this year as we missed it last year. Looking forward to cruising again, getting out on the water and away from wretched docklife. Ocracoke is a lovely island, great fishing and beautiful beaches. It is 14 miles long and seven miles wide, you can ride your bike everywhere. We never drive the car unless we're leaving the island. You can only get here by boat or plane. The island is rich in history, pirates and shipwrecks. Brian has done exceptionally well fishing this summer. Lots of large flounder and recently some nice red drum. The speckled trout are biting now too. I will inlude a link to Ocracoke on our blog, check it out.
