Off to Poulsbo-(without the boat!)

26 August 2009 | Port Townsend
No, we're still here in Port Townsend...just that I have to go down to Poulsbo to turn in some Comcast stuff. Seems as though if you don't live in Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, or somewhere urban, you have to go to Poulsbo to Custom Hearth Stoves out on Highway 305, next to the old oak tree, across from the Chevron station, to turn in your Comcast parts....can you believe it? If you don't turn it in they charge one one arm and one leg... BTW they don't tell you that you'll have to give back their equipment when you close your account...nasty about it too!

Okay, so today I got one of the solar panels mounted and neither one of us liked it (the mounting not the panel...love the panel hate the mounting)... so tomorrow...which will be the next day from now (what'd he say?) anyway...we'll go to plan "B" and put on the new brackets...Typically, the mounting gear costs more than the original equipment and putting these things on a boat heading offshore is a lot harder than anyone told us...go figure!

Big doin's today we had a special visitor!...Jan Yoder came out to the boat...he's our son-in-law's dad. He was on the way over to Oak Harbor, found we were here, and was kind enough to drop in. We tried not to overwhelm him with our stuff going on but when you're feeling overwhelmed by it all yourself you tend to pollute others. Sorry Jan :) Really it's all very simple...take whatever money you have...walk to the beach and throw it in...that pretty much sums up sailing.

Still on schedule with our projects...we have 10 days to finish them up and there are plenty believe me... Then we haul out and see what the now infamous cutlass bearing looks like...I can hardly wait! In the meantime...I'll be thinking of everyone while I'm munching out at the famous Poulsbo bakery....way yummmm!

'till tomorrow...
