Weather's Turning

29 August 2009 | Port Townsend
Ray here...
Yup...weather's starting to turn a little...other clues like school starting for some of the kids and having to fire up the old heater in the morning routine.

Aside from my usual complaining about the weather (that's one of my major drives to be down in Mexico!) ...We're scheduled to haul-out Tuesday AM...we'll know more about our schedule after that. My guess at this time is we'll either go out here on the hook (at anchor) or head up to Victoria and the San Juans...terrible life...terrible decisions :)

Congratulations to Daughter Willow and Son-in-law James...they just bought their first home in Seattle and are moving their stuff in today!! They'll probably sleep a week after they move in (I know I would...moving is hard work...not including the stress!) Get some rest guys...BTW we're coming for dinner....ha ha ha!

Meantime...thanks to all who are following us on this blog...feel free to comment. As for going out their with minimal fuel and rowing ourselves out of trouble...not so good for us...one issue is while you're waiting for winds in the middle of the Pacific, you're a sitting duck for storms to gather. If we had a lifetime of sailing under our belts that might be an okay thing but as semi-novices...not so good...we have a whole philosophy about dealing with weather and it doesn't include not having enough fuel to either not to go or to get away...but we do appreciate the suggestions and we gave it some serious thought. My hat's off to the purists.

BTW...Happy Birthday to Bryan in Onionland :)
