Beautiful Weather...Holding

30 August 2009 | Port Townsed
Ray here...
Supposed to be light winds and 73 today but Port Townsend is notorious for winds coming up...yesterday was terrible...Jim and Kathy, our friends from Olympia, came up and pulled their boat but not without considerable difficulty and even dinging another boat in the high winds and they were just getting their boat lined up to get out!

Talked to our mechanic yesterday...we went over the cutlass bearing issue and he feels by what I told him, it's probably more of an alignment issue than having to replace the bearing...that sure would be nice...'cause if so...we're off to San Juan's and Vancouver and Victoria Wednesday AM! if not we're probably down for the count and will have to stay up on the hard here until we (1) remove the shaft (2) knock out the old cutlass bearing (3) order and install a new cutlass bearing (4) install the new bearing and (5) test and align the shaft and prop then (6) test it all out on the water...ugh!

Moving along on other projects but we just finished the new list and crashed with despondency because we keep getting a longer and longer "TO DO" lists...I thought the list was supposed to...like...go away and when we sleep we wake up and it's all done... but alas when I woke up this morning...got a bigger list! Okay so the "TO DO" list elves must be on vacation and the little boaty demons are having a ball. (Their time is coming though because I have really big hammer!)

Today it's keep on keep'n on...tackle the TO DO list.
