Heads Down Doing TO DO Lists
31 August 2009 | Port Townsend - still
Ray here...
So, it was a great day for getting things done...Sandy got new dock lines and put them on which is good both because we needed them and she had been down with a cold. She also did some paperwork, organizing, and prep work for haul-out tomorrow. I took the anchor up to get a swivel welded on, at the same time I had fabricator cut some stainless steel pieces I had to fit on the bow to protect where the anchor comes up. We ran the windlass a few times (the device that pulls the anchor up) and it worked fine...although the switch need replacing which I have a spare thank you.
So it was a beautiful day...little coolish-er as fall is tipping it's hat. Tomorrow's a big day as we haul out and it's no little task lifting up a 32,000 sailboat with all it's gear and fuel. These guys are good though so not much sweat. Hope we don't have the wind trouble Jim and Kathy did. If all goes as planned...it's up...check the cutlass bearing...then right back in the water and right back here, as Mark is coming in (he's the guy who's going to do the fuel tank floor removal thing). Once we set up with him a schedule to get the floor done...we'll probably take off for Victoria.
So until the next exciting event...
