Warm Days in Poulsbo
07 October 2009 | Ray here...
First, thanks Kay for the update!...Wow!! sounds like you guys are having a blast! Goldilocks is a quick boat no doubt, with an awesome skipper to-boot! You should get 1st next time around! Although I can't imagine sailing in those winds with a spinnaker up...I probably would have either been "triple reefed" or "hove-to" with a Jordon Series drogue and tied to the dock!!! (really I would have probably been home watching the video....wait...I was home watching the video!!... Sandy on the other hand, would have been been stretched out on the windward quarter....screaming "faster...faster!" (Just an FYI...did I ever tell you that I despise sailing? Sailing is the complicated operation of a drifing transportation device that forces you to work to get to said location with the cheapest amount of dollars"...quoth the raven nevermore. My interest is always about being there...and I've always felt that the "getting there" stuff is, in my opinion...highly over rated. Sailing is like flying...hours and hours of boredom interupted by moments of shear terror-- Ha! But I'm glad you are enjoying it...just don't tell people about it for bigger-than-poop they'll want to go too...and the next thing you know...there's no dock space for liveaboards!!!....ssssshhhhhh. BTW Sandy wanted me to be sure and telly you hello too!
So, no we didn't go out in the winds...I don't know about you all down in Olympia but we went sailing and didn't even have to leave the dock!!...hours and hours of 20-30 knot winds.
Nice out today though...so I watched TV.
