So here's the deal...we took our main down (properly called the mainsail or "mainsull" as it's pronounced)...anyway...as expected Carol Hasse pronounced it dead...."condemned" I believe was the word she used. Replacement of course is necessary and it's naturally t all about price. Sandy's mulling over the offers. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Carol's offer is like the Lexus, BMW, Cadillac version, other sailmakers go down from there. Sails arn't cheap...try $5,000 to $15,000 (and up in some cases). Used sails can often be had but you really don't know the condtion of the cloth etc...so we've gone out for bids...now we wait.
