Cleared Storage!

01 April 2010
Sandy went over yesterday and closed out our Poulsbo storage room. The way that sounds we're almost on our way...possibly so, but we still have a lot to do. Our first setback came yesterday when I discovered the HF radio is not getting out the way I was hoping...it seems as though there's something wrong with the grounding system. The second event has to do with the roller furling set up on both the jib and staysail. At issue is what's turning out to be spending a lot of time up the mast re-aligning the furlers...add to that, stringing some wires down the mast, it really beginning to look like I may be up there a while...not my favorite thing.

Everything is out of storage and on the boat. That's okay but it makes working on the boat like trying to have dinner in your car! Stuff has to be moved for every project...then put back...and that's no matter how big or small the project!

Today the weather's givng up a break but Friday there's another big storm coming...which means more "delay of game" for getting the mast work done.

Oh well...at least one of the new 2000 lb. house batteries is coming in...now to get the old one out and new one in over the engine and generator. I hope I can get that forklift in the engine room! Ha! Actually, we're going to have to use the old Egyptian method of moving stones...relying on planks and rollers as the thing does weigh over 100 lbs...and is solid lead.

Gotta go get ready for the high winds...Ray out for now.
