Out of Dodge!...Well Poulsbo anyway

07 May 2010
So at 1203 PM PDT we departed good old Poulsbo and swung through Agate Pass on our way northward toward Langley. Took us about 5-6 hours of putting along across the Sound...very nice weather, very pleasant trip. Arrived Langely around 5 or so tide was just changing...but most noticible was the 10-15 knot wind piping down through the channel...Anchoring was a tad trickey as we had to "hit" and slide along an underwater sea mount kind-of-thing that kept us 5 feet on one side and 111 feet on the other. We dropped anchor in 24 feet of water...shut off the engine and ducked inside for a bite to eat.

Something new on the boat we had not experienced before...noise from wires and stuff rattling inside the mast! It's kind of a bouncy anchorage here (as opposed to a rolly anchorage...where bouncy is up and down.. fore and aft, and rolly is side to side)...so bouncy is the term I'd use for this place...but bouncy isn't somthing we had not experienced before...at least not on this boat...Sandy suggested filling the mast with styrofoam packing peanuts! I'm inclined to agree!

Wind generator turning tonight...giving us additional power...we've been concerned here because we feel like we're not getting level of power generation we're supposed to with this many batteries...the wind generator will help but it's hard to believe that we're draining so much with just one refer on...will look deeper into it tomorrow...after, of course, a visit to town and a double tall breve with four sugars :)
