Fairhaven - Day -16 -Almost Gone

Wind building
Okay, so this morning it looks like departure time. We had a great visit with Sandy's brother Don, his wife Wendy, and Miles. Then to our surprise we had Jen (Don's eldest daughter) and her two sons Aiden and Dawson also come out to the boat at the same time. A good time was had by all...partly sunny and some wind, made for interesting shuttle to and from the boat, but they really seemed to like being on the boat....well at least until it started raining :)
Sad good-bye's to all, but hopefully we'll see everyone in Port Angeles before we depart for Mexico. Leaving family is probably going to be the hardest part.
Put our new sail aboard...naturally it's blowing outside and we're prepping to leave for Sucia Island before this evenings winds come up and nail us, so we haven't had time to put the sail up yet...more on that story to follow. All we can say right now is we we're both blown away by how beautiful it was even though it was still all rolled up and in the box. Talk about delaying gratification! So, we wait until some type of decent weather and are possibly hooked to the dock before we pull her up...or at least when it's calm.
Next stop (theoretically) is Sucia island in the San Juan's...of course plans can change in a heartbeat, like the weather is doing to us right now...if plans change we'll do our best to keep people posted. Tonight we're supposed to have some pretty high winds at Sucia so we need to get in and get hooked up to a mooring ball before it comes in...although we know our anchor will work if that seems to be the better option.
This morning, finishing up business, going to town to mail mail, check bank, and get Sandy's hat.
Ray out for now...
