Solar Panels came in!!!

02 July 2009 | Ray Here...
Yes, this is our boat parked (docked) in Olympia. Solar panels will be going on each side of the aft rail. They're pretty big.

Two good events...our solar panels just came in and I got word from the engineers that our exhaust system is going to work just fine! I found out the boat had a custom exhaust system (that broke) and was going to cost like $2300 to replace. I redesigned it for less than $500!!! Big savings!

For the solar panels...Yikes!... I was more than a little surprised at their size!!!...I mean...I know how big they measured when I ordered them but they sure look bigger in the box when they got here! They are supposed to produce 135 watts each...that's 270 watts for both of them...for those that don't know, that's quite a bit of battery re-charge power with all kinds of other gizmos. They should do just fine. I suspect though, we'll be able to supply a small town when we get down there! I figure with the wind generator we could probably double as a light house or at least glow in the dark!
