Happy Fourth!...Yesterday!
05 July 2009 | Ray here...
Wow! Yesterday was intense! Daughter Willow, Son-in-Law James, and Granddaughter Jillian came out to celebrate the fourth and spend the night on the boat.
A good time was had by all as it was roasting hot all day, then we went to the Reservation where Ray and Sandy work to have the Seafood buffet (can you say all the clams, crab, and oysters you can eat?) ...and watch the Reservation fireworks.
We left, both deaf and speechless...as at the Res you don't just watch the fireworks...you're right now in the middle...it's truely and interactive event...there was a huge crowd of all the locals and lots of visitors .
We stayed and for two solid hours, and there were more fireworks set off than any of us had ever seen! Literally, thousands of firecrackers (one bunch of 35,000 alone), and then countless aerial bombs, rockets, and cannisters! Little kids, big kids and adults...everybody had masses of everything! In the end, we all got tired and left even before the Res's finale. As we left, the tribe started shooting off the really big stuff but after about a half hour we all were too tired to stay and watch....so, after 20 to 30 minutes of being inside of fireworks alley...we escaped the crowds and beat it back home.
