Haul Out Day Passed
08 August 2009 | Ray Here...

This is where we are supposed to be and what we are supposed to be looking like...but alas...we're still back at the dock.
So yesterday we were supposed to haul out...didn't happen. The deal is, there simply wasn't enough time to get the engine running so we had to call and cancel the haul out...which involved further calls and cancellations with the 60' lift I rented to work on the mast.
Today becomes a big day as I finally got the engine back together and ready for a test-run. The newest problem is even after double and triple checking, I can't seem to get fuel to the engine...will try some different tactics today.
We're in a weird space as the power went out last night for a few hours...kind of gave us a taste of what we're in for living on the hook. "No phones, no TV, no motor cars, not a single luxury!" Our anxiety levels are a little high as neither one of us is 100% sure about the engine and today is starting-her-back-up-day after having been down for weeks. I trust I got it all back together.
Time is easing by...we're really in a crunch now with fall coming on.
Retired over a week now...starting to feel strange...and very nice to not have to get up in the AM and go to work. Our work now is the boat...very nice having the whole day to work on her (and night too if we want). Fingers crossed we get the engine running.
