Raining and cool out

12 August 2009 | Ray here...
Signs of fall approaching...rain and cooler in the morning. We're really feeling the crunch now as our weather window approaches.

Both the engine and generator are up and running...(purrrfectly I might add!). We are really happy with the turn of events for the engines. It's not often thought of, but having an inboard generator means you really have two engines on the boat...each complete with it's own starting, fuel, water, and exhaust system....if you want to know what it's like...look at your car engine in it's space...then double the engine without increasing the space! Ha!

Today we're supposed to start removing the flooring to install a replacement 200 gallon fuel tank. Not an easy job and certainly not one we've wanted to do...but...the old tank leaks and I bought a new-used one from a friend in Alabama. It sits waiting...oddly it leaked and needs repair too! I always remember the axiom..."Cruising really means having more exotic places to work on your boat!"

Friday is haul out day...the list is long for this weekend for sure...will we ever get done?

We'll try keep you all posted as we check things off the list also... we lose our TV and internet this Friday....I guess we'll see how well our long range wi-fi works starting this weekend.

Departure from Olympia is set for Tuesday.
