Tean Sound Anchorage off St Martin
Peter and I had a slow start as he needed to attend a board meeting by phone. Anyway, that suited us quite well as we wanted to arrive at Tean Sound just after high water at 1.40pm. Idea being that obstructions in this narrow passage is easier to see at low water and if you hit the ground higher water will in the best case lift you off.
We motored for an hour or so from New Grimsby Sound and actually the last of the four mooring buoys off Higher Town at St Martin. When we got ashore Keith told us it was his buoy, but we could still rent it for the night.
We walked around half the island, both the rugged North shore and the gentle curving South shore. Dinner at Seven Stones pub which must have one of the best views in England. A vista to the South West over most of the Scillies. We watch the sun dip under the island of Tean as we returned to the boat. Peter was up long enough to see the moon, but I had to wait for the next morning to get a view!
