Easter morning.
Kaikoura, NZ. Before breakfast, we moved down the road to a sea lion colony. A common sight in the background: one ofs the crazy painted vans touring the island. Some were privately owned and some were rentals from either Escape Vans company or Wicked Vans. This van happened to be a van rented by Wicked and is one the tame designs, with the painted saying "I have no idea what I'm doing out of bed." (I could publish the Escape van photos we took, but probably not many of the Wicked vans... vans with paint jobs and text definitely meant to provoke.) Apparently their target market were people who didn't care what anyone thought of them, which can sometimes be a good thing, but if you want to overnight park on a sidestreet or in a vaguely legal area, we think it best to travel in a van of the inconspicuous light blue variety.
