Good morning!
We had a very productive night. First there was beautiful sailing, then cloud cover masked all the stars and the moon, this morning the sunrise was spectacular AND we find ourselves now 1 mile ahead of Tower! The Rancho Deluxe Wild West Rodeo continues as the boys have been pushing both the boat and crew to their limits.
We owe Tower 30 minutes, so in order to beat them we need to finish 3 - 5 miles ahead of them. We were 30 miles behind them 2 days ago, so progress is being made. We like our position relative to theirs but still have 380 miles to go.
On the flying fish front, local Hawaii resident Ty Pryne got tagged again last night, this time in the back while he was driving. Current score is 2 - 0 in favor of the fish. Ty must have issues with the local fish population he needs to address!
So we have a display in the cockpit labeled; "waypoint" this has been the distance to Hawaii and has always been slow to move when you are looking at 2,000 or more miles to go. This morning it reads 380 miles to go. We have relabeled the "waypoint" to "M2B3".
Current estimation for those of you in Hawaii is that we will arrive Monday 11pm to 2am on Tuesday, we will refresh this as we get closer.
Today's technical term - "M2B3" (Miles to Bar, Babes and Barn).
The mood is good, the sailing is great, the boys are not getting any prettier after this many days at sea.
Aloha!
Jim
