Actually there are some tourists but not the usual kind. These kids were camped in the bottom corner of the beach, emerged in the morning and then paddled off into the wide blue yonder.

The yacht in the background is 'Boree' which is crewed by a delightful German couple Ingee and Bert who we met in Bundaberg last year when they came in on the 'Port to Port' rally. It's a beautiful American built boat, 50' long with everything for luxury ocean cruising. Bert and Ingee describe themselves as 'homeless boat bums' and have been sailing the Pacific and Australian Coast (as far west as the Kimberleys) for the last 10 years. They plan to head off to Asia in 12 months time but are spending this year coastal cruising Qld, so we look forward to 'bumping' into them occasionally.
