Continuing South
17 September 2012 | Townsville to Bowen
Susie
We’ve been retracing our steps so it’s been a bit of the same old stuff – blue water, warm sunshine and whales, but no one’s complaining. We went in to Townsville for a couple of days to reprovision and for Jim to get an Xray in preparation for his knee replacement, and then headed south to Cape Gloucester. The first day was truly awful beating into the sea but on the next two days the wind moved more to the east and we had a glorious sail, made even better by the number of whales that accompanied us. Probably the only thing more exciting than the shout of ‘Whales Ahoy’ is hearing their breathing as they come alongside the boat.
