Tutukaka

We have enjoyed the quietest yet pristine NZ beautiful bay life in Tutukaka. After Great Barrier Island escapades with excellent friends SV Ganesh and SV Tregoning among other fun and exciting sailing folks. So far, SV Rat Bag a brilliant hunter green beautifully restored vintage yacht, now a stylish bright cherry red hard chined purpose built mini ship SV Muktuk from Germany has stepped up in their absence to enjoy this gem of a quiet bay. While we are staying fit, preparing our Sailing wonder SV Red Witch II for this seasons departure to Fiji and Vanuatu, escaping the colder NZ winter.

New Mooring ball, trailer sailor racing Kia Ora.

We have fully restored our beautiful 20 ft Cirrus trailer sailor recently. Kia Ora is at Marsden point after being stored at our family Lake Taupo home for the winter.

We will enter snake bank race next month and hope to make a great fun day of it.
Lucky us, while Robin has been working on our good friends boat Damon, now for sail after her circumnavigation was completed, we decided to purchase her mooring ball just outside Marsden cove marina to leave Red Witch safely while we travel overseas.
This way our Bay of Islands adventures are easier accessed instead of having to travel the length of Whangarei estuary for Hauraki gulf sailing.
I have a new job which is a great asset for making time to learn to sail, since I have 4 days off and 3 days on. Staying fit has been easy with all of the wonderful hiking, swimming and running here.
