Hurricane Earl
It's now 2005 and I've finished prepping the boat for Earl which is about to brush the coast of North Carolina. While we're North of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge the boat is currently on the hard so we removed all three sails today and stowed all below. Additionally, as an added safety measure we also removed the dodger and bimini. The forecasters aren't saying a whole lot about the effects of Earl on our area but better safe than sorry. I anticipate gale force winds sometime tomorrow as the storm quickly moves NNE as the day progresses. I'm a little worried about two of my portlights as they desperately need rebedding. I have yet to get to this task as I just bought this boat about two weeks ago. More about me and my new boat in my next entry.
