Its all about the water!

For those of you who have been able to come and share this with us you will know several things…We love to share our boat and life, we love to snorkel, and Karen is a crazy woman when it comes to potable water. I worry about it all the time, one could say I obsess about it, and am always concerned about how much we have…and where we will get more.

Well friends NO MORE! The water catchment system I made is a God Send! As of today we have completely filled our 100 gallon water tank, that was nearly empty, and all our jerry jugs, plus 2 5 liter jugs and a bucket that we are rinsing clothes in. We actually timed in during a downpour today, which means I sat out in the rain with the hose in one of the jerry jugs (whose obscessed?) and Jim counted (from inside the dry cockpit, hmmm) 5 gallons, 3 minutes!

We last filled up the tanks in Salinas, 3 runs with jerry jugs, totaling 16 gallons a run (at .25c a gallon) frankly, a pain in the patoot! This way we string up the water awning, which takes less than 10 minutes, and then we wait for the rain. All in all a much better system…take a look in the photo gallery for the pics. Jim requests that I reconsider the ban on his doing dishes…the matter is under review.
