After a long day of travel that started with The BEST limo driver in the world! and seeing the glorious Full moon setting and watching sunrise over the city, (Chicago), we are back in Grenada. It was touch and go for a while as we departed Chicago over an hour and 1/2 late and arrived in Miami an hour late and then had to get to the terminal and deplane! The good news is you CAN connect thru MIA in about 25 minutes! (well, IF you are in the same terminal, and IF you are only going from D45 to D34, that is!). We deplaned at 3:20pm and boarded at 3:35!
As we flew the last leg we saw the day come full circle with the setting sun throwing pink and orange into the clouds on the right side of the plane and the moon rising out of the misty sea on the left. Truly Amazing.
As we landed in Grenada, and deplaned on to the wet tarmac with the residue of the last storm lingering on the ground the warm sweet-scented island air hits us and reminds us that this is our second home. Immigration - easy and smiling, luggage collection everything is there, Customs to declare our 4 suitcases of gear, easy and smiling, then on to pick up the car from Ian, happy to see us. So an hour after we land, we pull up to Cool Runnings to find our friends here waiting for us - you guessed it, easy and smiling with hugs and a warm welcome back.
And while we are already missing those dear to us back at home, we are truly fortunate beyond measure for the life we are able to lead.
