We finally stopped to write down everything we have left to do…and while the list is still LOONG, we have made great progress so far. Stainless completely polished (the first time EVER since we have owned the boat) whole boat completely washed, helm seat complete, the first of four winch covers made, lockers reorganized, etc, etc. We wrote out the list of still-to-do because I wanted the satisfaction of being able to strike thru the completed items and feel really accomplished…well and so we wouldn’t be temped to get to the pool early and then stay for happy hour and…well, the days go by really quick.
The other night we saw our first satellite here. We were on the foredeck trying to catch a breeze and Jim spotted an intermittent flashing light too high for any plane. Odd, but either it was a satellite or possibly we were overflown by aliens. It is rare to see a satellite here in the marina as we are in the surrounded by a road that circles the lagoon, with businesses, and homes as well. There is a lot of ambient light, and we can see only the brightest of stars in the sky. Also new this year, we have see lightening! The outer bands of Rafael dumped a lot of rain, and a few evenings we sat and watched the clouds building to the east and north, and lots of lightening in the sky. Fun to watch especially when you know the worst is already past you.
