Keli Mutu
26 October 2012
The next day headed to Keli Mutu. The mountain with three different coloured crater lakes. This trip was a lot longer and some very windy stretches so we had many stops for sick children. Cameron got the prize for most considerate puker as he stretched himself horizontally from the rear of the
8 seater, top half of body hanging through the passenger window & didn't get a speck on the car.
Finally we made it and having climbed to the top of the pathway to the first look out Cameron exclaimed "Well that sure was worth the chunder!"
The colours of the lakes change over the years but on our visit the first was a brilliant turquoise the second blue green & the last so dark a green to be almost black. (The pictures don’t do it justice).
Unfortunately by the time we got to the summit the clouds had descended so we couldn’t get the view in its entirety still we enjoyed the walk and our picnic on the way.
