We hired a couple of cars and drove down to Melaka about 1.5 hours found the hotel and started wandering around the old centre covering the parts we missed the kids spied a McDonalds (they insidiously appear in all the most beautiful parts of asia there is also a hard rock café right on the canal in the centre of the old town amongst buildings built in the 1600s ) all of a sudden they were all starving aiming for a feed of md's ! Bad move Catherine found a local food court (it was real local) and pronounced we are all eating here. Their appetite seemed to disappear fish rice balls and clams and all sorts of oddities after a hot day wandering the centre we went to the hotel for a swim feed the children and adults out for dinner out at a Portuguese / Malay restaurant in a building that was 400 years old great food !
The next day the rest of Melaka covered and on the way home we stopped at an extreme adventure where the kids had a great time racing each on go karts, archery , and paint ball . every one arrived home tired a swim in the pool easy dinner and early to bed
