USS Nimetz in the straits

06 June 2013
The trip round the straits was very busy with so many ships going every direction . The AIS maxes out at 150 ships and was maxed out for 3 days non stop!!! One of the highlights was watching the largest US nuclear carrier Nimetz (340m long ,70m wide 90 planes and 100,000 ton) cruising along at 30 knots. The boys googled it and it can run for 25 years without having to refuel .
I was glad to get out of the straits on to somewhere a little less crowded
