Gomantong Caves
26 July 2013
On the way back we stopped at the Gomantong caves. It was a nice wander through the bush that DID have big upper canopy trees (and cute monkeys we hadn’t seen before) to a huge cave system full of bats and swiftlet nests that the locals collected. As we walked through on the board walk in the dark it took a while to work out what the crunching noise was. COCKROACHES getting crushed under your feet, at this Tracy and Olivia were back out the way they came in, squeeking in disgust. But Harrison, intrepid adventurer that he is continued on until some of the cockroaches decided to hop on him. He was last seen running as fast as he could screaming all the way out of the cave.
