Adventure of a lifetime

Sailing round the world....slowly

Retracing our steps

0600 start this morning, a bit of rain around, so some beautiful rainbows on the way. Then we got out from the lee of Martinique and both the wind and swell picked up. Not as strong as last time. 20-25kts constant, smaller swell but so much more rain. 30kts the strongest wind in a squall. Good sailing with a double reefed main and only a small amount of geneoa out.
However as soon as we got into the lee of Dominica everything died out and we had to motor. At one stage the sea was like glass.
55nm, 10 hours, all the way to Portsmouth today so we have a short hop to Guadeloupe tomorrow. Anchored on the north side of the bay, out the back ready for a quick getaway
