Adventure of a lifetime

Sailing round the world....slowly

Changed plans

So at 0930 this morning we decided not to have a lay day as originally planned, but instead would push on further south. So motor sailed 17nm down to petite Anse D Artlett. We were going to go in the bay before petite (Grande D Artlet) but the large amount of boats already anchored there were rocking madly. For some reason a strong swell seemed to be pushing straight in. So instead we anchored around the corner where there is just a little swell coming in.
We were going to go all the way to St Anne, but after Fort de France, the wind and swell were right on the nose and we still had 15nm to go. So called it a day instead.
As we passed FDF we saw the cruise ship Costa Magica heading out. It had been quarantined 2 days ago with corona virus suspected on board. Then we heard on the radio that there was going to be a medi vac from cruise ship Costa Fevolosia (something like that) of 2 patients with corona virus. This ship was also there anchored off FDF.
It's crazy how fast this virus is exploding!
