Adventure of a lifetime

Sailing round the world....slowly

All alone

Wow, it was foggy today. A slow start due to the fog and also as a bridge 3 miles up the way didnt open until 0830. Then about 4 miles after that we had another bridge to wait for, but then we were off. Quite a bit of traffic also heading south with us, we were constantly being hailed on the radio as some power boat wanted to pass. Once there were 4 in a row.
Im sure most of today was stunning but it was hidden in the fog, and yet the fog still made it look beautiful. I was so excited to see big eagle sitting atop a dead tree. Simply beautiful.
We did 42nm today. Originally we planned only to go 38, but we came to the anchorage and decided it was early enough to go to the next one just an hour further. So here we are, anchored all by ourselves with a bit of protection from the very slight southerly winds expected tonight. We are just off the ICW so can see the traffic still going at night...mostly commercial barges. Next time we will probably stay at Coinjock, but you need to pay to stay tied up there, so we were happy to skip it this time, but it did look pretty. Besides, we're trying to get further south to a very protected anchorage before this next big blow comes in on Thursday
