Adventure of a lifetime

Sailing round the world....slowly

Mahi at Rum Cay

33nm today, sailed all the way just on the genoa and caught a Mahi Mahi! 3.7kgs (8.15lbs) and it fed 7 hungry people that night!! Anchored in Port Nelson on Rum Cay in 3.2m at low tide. It shallows up fairly quickly here, there are lots of bommies to look out for, but also a lot of grass patches, so you need to pick you anchor spot in a patch of sand. Oops and Cracker Jack also came across today so we're going to enjoy this bay together for a couple of nights.
We had mahi burgers for dinner on Cracker Jack and everyone overate on the fresh mahi. We also caught 2 barracudas, but they went straight back into the water. Opps and Cracker Jack also caught a barracuda on the way.
