Adventure of a lifetime

Sailing round the world....slowly

Love Rum Cay

Really, really love this little anchorage! We went ashore for a walk to explore the little community, it's very small with a marina that is no longer in use and a couple of dead boats in the water. There is a little bar right in front of the govt dock and one just down the road a bit, but the lady is currently off the island so it's not open right now. There is apparently a little grocery store, but that isn't open either.
Phil and I went for a very enjoyable walk, met some very friendly people and then we all met in ashore for sundowners at 5pm. There are not many boats at anchor - just 4 yachts and 2 massive motor boats up the far end of the bay. We didn't see them at all.
Cracker Jack, Oops, the new boat Ashling, and we all had rum punch on Rum Cay! We also had more drinks and dinner. The owners of the bar were very glad we came in as she said there haven't been many boats here at all this season. The others are moving on tomorrow, but P and I will stay and support the bar for one more day!
