26nm today, managed to do a bit of sailing, and happy to sail along at 3.5kts, but when it dropped to 2.5kts we started up the motor. No luck with the fish, got a big strike, but he didn't take the lure. A bit further on, there was a huge bang, and the line was flung back into the boat and all the way down the companion way. Something huge must have bitten through the line to cause it to fling back so far like that. Hmm, probably lucky we didn't catch that one. Phil is mourning the loss of yet another red head lure. We are running low on the ones we brought from home!
Heading to Georgetown as there is some SW winds coming and there is no protection from W winds in the other islands. Also we have to do some admin that includes faxing a document back to the USA. Can't believe we have to fax in this day and age!! Would be so much easier if we could just email it in!
Oh well, give us a chance to restock with fuel, gas and some fresh produce.
I even managed to find an ice cream shop that was open! Yay for me...happy days!
