Lumpy ride

51nm in 9hr 43mins, Ave speed 5.2kts yesterday to Cat Island. Wind was more 'on the nose' than we expected, seas slightly more lumpy, so not a comfortable sail at all. Had the sails pulled in tight due to wind angle, so boat was 'heeled' over more than usual. So..in these conditions, we nearly lost the sup tied on the side....twice, had to slow boat down to execute sup overboard drills. Ended up practicing 'hove too' drills to stop the boat in order to rescue sup up on deck rather than on side in mounts.
Then...we catch a mahi mahi...a big mahi mahi. Of course, this happens when we are cracking along at 6kts!! Organized chaos follows until we land said Mahi in cockpit. Fresh fish for dinner with friends from another boatin a stunning, flat, peaceful bay made it all worthwhile. Long, very bright green flash at sunset topped it all off.
